I think what you are doing is something that absolutely needs to be done. There's such a rich history of baseball in all those towns, and definitely in Batavia. For many of those young collegiate players that have brought the parks and communities back to life, it's as close to the pros as they will ever be. I was fortunate enough to have experienced the magic of Batavia's inaugural season in the Perfect Game Collegiate League. That was a sensational story. I watched every game from my living room in Tampa, and I followed every story, every post, and every tweet. It was incredible how that town embraced their young team. You'd have thought they were major leaguers. My grandson was one of their pitchers and he just happened to have a really good year, so the fans were very warm to him. It was fun to watch. The opportunity to play out there enabled him to get a scholarship at the University of Ft Lauderdale, which was launching an inaugural team of their own... one that just 10 days ago finished 2nd in the NCCAA World Series. And now, he is back in Batavia for this, his second season, and make no mistake about it, his ultimate goal is that of many others out there....to make it to the pros. I don't know where his journey will lead, but I do know that right now, he is living the dream....his hopes are high, and his talents are nearly there. My job is to do all I can for as long as I can to help him achieve his goal. No matter what happens though, one thing is certain. He will always have that magical inaugural year in Batavia to remember. I wrote a song and produced a short video that highlights the season. It was my way of holding on to the moment. It became their unofficial theme song for 2021. When you get a fhance, please watch.....you'll enjoy it....best of luck with your book
